Hi Carolyn I would like to say what a great day our staff and partners had on Sunday. Firstly we all went to the Clifton Bay Café. Our table by the window looking out to the sea was ready when arrived. We ordered our drinks and meals and the service was great and so was the food. There were 15 of us and there was no waiting around for our meals etc.
Then to the clay bird shooting. I would like to thank you for the time you took to show all us blokes and the ladies as well how to hold the shotgun and were to aim for the best shot. Also you told us about all the safety precautions that needed to happen so there was no chance of an accident. The men and women absolutely enjoyed it. You made it a great day, everyone hit the clay birds and thanks again. We will be back for more.
Kind Regards Murray Long Managing Director Ansin and Monteith Hastings

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS…..
1. How old do you have to be?
SHOTS INC There is no age limit, however it does help if you are able to hold the gun! The instructors can help and we do have more than one firearm on site so we can try and make things easier. Generally, from the age of 15-16 yr olds can operate the firearm on their own.
QUADS INC The minimum age to ride is 16yrs, however any aged person can particiapte as a pillion passenger
2. Will it hurt?
SHOTS INC The recoil is like a hard shove into your shoulder. If you have mounted the gun correctly (which we check before loading the firearm) then the recoil is minimised. Put it this way - no-one has fallen over backwards!
QUADS INC We try not to let anyone get hurt!! We assess the ability of each rider before we head out on the tour and the ride is tailored to the ability of all riders.
3. Do I have to have a license?
SHOTS INC No. Under New Zealand law, anyone can operate a firearm provided they are with a licensed firearms holder, and there is only one gun between them. We take this a stage further, and only the instructors are authorised to handle the ammunition and load the gun. Only one shell is loaded at a time for safety reasons.
QUADS INC No licence is required. Some people have completed the tour comfortably, and do not hold even a driving licence!
4. How long does it take?
SHOTS INC It takes about an hour per ten people to complete, and for large groups, more operators are available to endeavour to keep to the hour or so timeframe.
QUADS INC Allow 2.5-3 hrs for the tour and 20-30 minutes travel to and from Quads Inc base from Hastings or Napier.
